+Birth Program
Birth is a unique moment that involves a number of emotions (fear, joy, euphoria, disappointment), sensations (annoyance, lack of control, pain, burning). On top of that, everyone involved have their own hopes and beliefs. It's very easy to feel lost, fearful and frustrated with the higher expectations . We feel like asking ourselves: did we do everything we could to have a birth that suits us? Should I have a home birth? Shall I invest in a Doula?
This program comes to NOURISH pregnant women and couples.
Nourish how?

How does the program work?
The program consists of a session of up to 2 hours with the pregnant woman or the couple at the end of pregnancy. The session is individually adjusted to the each one needs and wishes. Some of the topics usually addressed are: hypnotherapy and meditation as a tool to a prepare for birth; what can be done to reduce labour time as per recent scientific researches ; what pain means in labour; the mind and body connection in birth; worries and fears that arise along the way; suggestions regarding the last few weeks before birth; among other aspects.
After the appointment, a one-off follow-up is carried out until the big day.
The idea is that after the session the family feel confident and ready to savour their baby arrival. This preparation has showed to be effective also when a Doula has been hired.
Why did I create this program?
It all started when I was very young and dreamed of having 4 children. While I was looking for a father for my children, enjoying couple's life and trying to conceive, I was always interested in understanding why some women described childbirth as the hardest experience of their lives, while others described as the best experience, painful, but very tolerable.

How can the childbirth experience be so different for every woman?
Over the years, I've taken every opportunity I've had to talk to mothers who were willing to share their birth experiences. I was always looking for something in common between the painful deliveries and those pleasurable ones.
I talked to women of all kinds, who had vaginal and cesarean birth; who used epidural, gas and air; pain relief injections, tens and none of it; born at term, preterm and late term, with a midwife, obstetrician and unattended; with or without doulas, in private maternities, through public health system, birth center, at home, in hospital wards, in pools. Women whose father died on the eve of childbirth, who had the baby in the car, at the reception of the maternity, treated as geriatric and teenage pregnancy. I always listened very attentively to the details, I wanted to know everything that had happened starting on dia anterior the birth, their relationship with the pain family births, the connection they had with the baby and the pregnancy itself.
After 9 years trying to conceived and finally managing to carry out a pregnancy, Sara came through a vaginal, induced, painful and traumatic birth.
During my second pregnancy, I was determined to join the group of women who experienced a peaceful delivery. I decided to research in depth, reconciling my lifelong conversations with a lot of scientific study. Matheus was born naturally in 42 minutes, counted from the moment I had the first contraction that really bothered me. It was serene and harmonious.
I decided to live to motivate other women to have a pleasant and orchestrated birth with mother nature.
